Ruthanne Warnick
I founded Capture the Journey in 2013 after becoming a Certified Guided Autobiography Instructor through the Birren Center for Autobiographical Studies. I had been gathering my family’s stories for several years and began to understand the importance and value of capturing those stories and experiences of past generations, adding my own experiences and life lessons, and sharing them with the next generation.
Like many others, I regret the questions never asked and the time not taken to get more of the stories now lost forever. I was determined not to let that pattern continue, and my goal became inspiring and helping others to take action now, avoid regret, and create a legacy for their families.
Through Capture the Journey, I work with individual clients to capture and record their stories in multiple formats, and I lead workshops guiding participants in writing and sharing their stories and experiences. I am also enthusiastic about speaking to groups about the importance of sharing family and personal stories, experiences, and life lessons, the many ways to take action, avoid regret, and stop procrastinating, and take action.
My past experience includes 30+ years of leadership in Hadassah, a national women’s organization that supports advanced medical care and research, youth development, advocacy particularly related to women’s health, and global humanitarian work. Advancing from the local to the regional and then national levels of leadership, I have been able to lead, engage, mentor, and train other women to become leaders, as well as speak about the organization to a wide range of audiences.
When I’m not busy capturing stories, you can find me walking the beaches in Oregon, hiking mountain trails, or working in my garden.
